Jack Black esittää Halia, pinnallista naistenmiestä, joka joutuu hieman yllättäen hypnoosiguru Tony Robbinsin käsittelyyn. Hypnoosin seurauksena Hal ei käsitä, että hänen lumoavan kaunis tyttöystävänsä (Gwyneth Paltrow) onkin todellisuudessa satakiloinen ei niinkään hemaiseva mimmi.
